She said the store is a complete loss and the only insurance she has is for fire. The water line inside her store is about 6-feet high. Long Beach was hit hard by Hurricane Katrina when a 30-foot storm surge came in from the Gulf of Mexico and completely destroyed buildings from the beach to about a half-mile inland. Almost every other building in the city had some sort of damage which gets progressively worse the closer you get to the beach.
